Frequently asked

Everything people ask us

How do you price lawn mowing?

By the property rather than a flat citywide rate. Lot size is the biggest factor, then obstacles — beds, trees, fences, gates and slope all add time. Overgrown one-time cuts are quoted separately because they are a different job entirely. Send the address and we will get a number back to you the same day.

How often should I have my lawn mowed?

Weekly from March through October for most lawns in this area. Growth slows in the heat of late July and August on unirrigated centipede, and that is often a good time to move to every other week. From November through February, monthly is usually plenty.

Do you require a contract?

No. Recurring service continues until you tell us to stop, and a week's notice takes you off the route. Seasonal work like clean ups is quoted and booked one job at a time.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, fully insured for liability and property damage. We can send a certificate before the first visit if your HOA or property manager needs one on file.

What happens if it rains on my day?

We move you to the next dry day and text you. We do not cut saturated ground — it ruts the lawn and tears the turf. You are never billed for a visit that did not happen.

Do I need to be home?

No. We just need gate access and to know about pets. You get a text the day before each visit, so there are no surprises.

Do you bag grass clippings?

We mulch by default because clippings return nitrogen to the lawn. If growth is heavy enough to leave clumps, or you simply prefer bagging, we will bag and haul for a small add-on.

What kind of grass do I have?

In Wilmington it is most likely centipede or St. Augustine, with some Bermuda on sunny irrigated lots and zoysia in newer neighborhoods. Fescue does not hold up well here. Send a photo and we can usually tell you.

Can you cut an overgrown yard?

Yes, and it is a big part of what we do. Tall grass gets taken down in stages so the turf survives, then trimmed and edged. Tell us how long it has been and whether anything is hidden in it.

Do you do fertilizing, weed control or aeration?

We do not apply chemicals — that requires a separate license and we would rather do one thing well. We are happy to recommend a local applicator we trust.

How do I pay?

Card on file billed after each visit, or monthly if you would rather see one charge. Check and cash are fine too. No deposits and no prepayment for recurring service.

How fast can you start?

Usually within a week for recurring mowing, depending on the route. Overgrown one-time cuts we try to fit within a few days, and fall clean ups should be booked by early October.

Do you service rental and vacation properties?

Regularly. Beach rental owners often put us on a Friday cut so the yard is sharp before weekend check-in. We coordinate with property managers and invoice however you need.

What if something gets damaged?

We tell you before you find it, and we fix it. That is what the insurance is for. Sprinkler heads and landscape lighting are the usual suspects — flag them and we will work around them.
